Meridian; healing the Energy within_edit

 About Meridian Our Purpose

Earth's meridians and the meridians of the human body are systems of energy channels that serve as a framework for understanding the flow of energy or life force.

Earth's Meridians: The Earth has an energy system based on meridians (lines of longitude, and more specifically, the lines along which magnetic and energetic currents flow). Ancient cultures, especially Chinese philosophy, have looked at the Earth as having its own energetic grid. Some systems like geomancy, acupuncture, and other forms of earth-based energy practices view these lines as being connected to ley lines or energy grids running across the planet. The Human Body has them as well.

Meridians: In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), meridians are channels through which "Qi" (vital energy) flows throughout the body. There are twelve primary meridians that correspond to specific organs and functions. These energy pathways are seen as influencing health, and blockages or imbalances in the flow of Qi are believed to lead to illness.

The Symbolic Connection: Some people, especially in alternative health practices, view the energy of the Earth’s meridian system as connected to the human body's meridian system. The idea is that the human body is not separate from the Earth, but part of a larger energetic whole. Just as energy flows along meridians in the body, it’s thought that the Earth’s energy flows along its meridian lines, potentially affecting the human body’s energy.

Chakras Energy Centers: Chakras are also energy centers within the human body that are commonly understood through systems like Hinduism, Buddhism, and some New Age practices. Neuro Shamans, particularly in South American and other indigenous traditions, often work with similar concepts of energy centers in the body, though they may use different terminology or frameworks. The Shamans often speaks of key points or areas in the body that correspond to different layers of human experience—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. For example, the heart might be seen as the center of emotional balance, the head as the center of spiritual connection, and the lower abdomen as the seat of grounding and personal power. Healing Practices: In shamanic healing, specific chakras or energy centers are targeted to balance energy, remove blockages, or bring a person back into harmony. The methods used might involve energy work, sound healing, drumming, or visionary journeys to uncover the root cause of imbalances within these centers.

Connection to the Earth and Cosmos: Just like the chakras and meridians are connected to a person’s inner energy system, shamans see these centers as being connected to greater spiritual forces. The energy of the Earth and the cosmos as influencing these centers, and a shaman's role can be to mediate that flow, aligning the person with their higher self, the Earth, or the spiritual world. In Shamanism, everything is interconnected—humans, nature, Mother Gaia, animals, spirits, and the universe.

Shaman act as intermediaries between these realms, and they often heal by aligning a person’s energy with the universal flow. Both meridians and chakras represent ways of understanding the energetic body and the flow of life force, and a shaman's work often revolves around rebalancing these systems. Shamanic Journeys: Shamans might go on spirit journeys to interact with spirits or ancestors to understand where energy blockages have occurred in the body or spirit, much like diagnosing imbalances in the chakra or meridian system.

Elemental Healing and Extractions: Some shamanic traditions associate elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air) with different parts of the body or with certain chakras or meridians. A shaman might work with these elements to restore balance in the body’s energy system, such as through rituals, plant medicine, or ceremony. Extraction Ceremonies use the connection to the greater Earth and time to unblock the chakra and meridians but also gather the Ancestral divinities and ask other sources of energy and spiritual influences or imprints to leave the body to allow for more flow.

Cultural Context: Meridians come from Chinese medicine and chakra systems from Indian traditions, but in shamanism, energy systems are often more fluid and interconnected with the spiritual world. The concepts are there, but their interpretations might be more rooted in a holistic, animistic perspective rather than a structured anatomical one. Illumination Sessions are used to bring the chakra and meridians into alignment.
